Meet the Northern Woman March issue editorial team:
Catriona Doherty, Editor Northern Woman
"A lot of behind the scenes work goes into the photoshoot.
"Firstly I source a venue, model, photographer, stylist, hair stylist and makeup artist.
"Once the venue is booked and team assembled, each person has an important part to play in creating a look that’s in harmony with the overall chosen theme/look.
"A talented (and fun) team is essential, which is why Northern Woman always works with the best local talent in the industry.”
Brendan Gallagher - Photographer
"I usually keep my images bright and airy, and the great backdrop of the Titanic Hotel with its large windows allowed a lot of light to come into the building to help me with that look. The style of the hotel is great with a different feel in every room, so we used that to full advantage.
“Having a great model (and team) really makes a huge difference to the shoot and this shows in the final images in the magazine. Once again Northern Woman is pushing the style within Northern Ireland and using some of the best backdrops to do so."
Shane Breslin - Hair Stylist
“The vibe and feel I had for our model Meagan's hair was to keep a simplicity and purity to the various looks, with the emphasis on the styling.
"The hair has a barely there look, which is big right now; hair that looks almost as if very little has been done but still looks effortlessly beautiful and clean.”
Niamh Cunningham - Stylist
“Polka dots are a staple trend that reappear time and time again on the catwalks and in our wardrobes.
"This season, both the catwalks and the high street offer us versatility when it comes to the elegant print, giving us multiple ways to wear our dots.
“I wanted to create looks to suit a variety of styles. This means that all of our readers can find something they love within each outfit whether it be the entire look, a jumpsuit/blouse combo or single pieces.
“We want to inspire our readers which in turn will inspire their wardrobes and after seeing this month’s editorial, I expect everyone to be polka dot crazy!”
Samantha Weightman - Makeup Artist
“After seeing the location and the clothes, I chatted with the team and decided on a fresh and polished makeup look that would complement every outfit.
"Meagan is absolutely stunning, with beautiful skin and had a light golden tan, so I went for a sheer coverage using MAC face and body foundation. I focused on highlighting with Illamasqua pigment in ‘furore’ and used a light sweep of blush as well as adding more freckles.
“For her eyes I kept the colours soft with nudes and pinks for natural definition, and finished with a liner flick and individual cluster lashes, making sure to fan out the different lengths to give a lightweight and fluttery look.
"The changes I made to the make-up were minimal choosing only to step up the highlight, add more freckles and darken the lips from a berry to a deeper plum using lipstick shades 407 and 428 by Kiko.”
