Belfast fashion show set for River Lagan

An exciting new fashion brand, 'El Divino fashion' will be launched at a unique event on the river Lagan next month which will showcase the work of many of Northern Ireland's highly established, as well new up and coming, fashion designers.

Hosted by El Divino & Style Academy and supported by Toni and Guy, Pommery Pop Champagne & Asahi Beer the event is a fashion first for Belfast, with the models literally walking on water with a 150 foot catwalk floating on top, and stretching into the middle of, the River Lagan.

Throughout the event leading models will showcase the new and unseen creative work of 12 of Northern Ireland's most exciting fashion designers and a series of one off pieces by 20 fashion stars of the future, whose creations have been individually selected for this event.

Menswear will hail exclusively from the Style Gallery in Lisburn and an international catwalk collection will close the event's proceedings.

The fashion show, which takes place on Friday 4th May, will feature water related stunts and a few additional surprises with presenter and voice of the recent MTV EMAS, John Kearns, hosting the event. Commenting, Tracey Hall, Director of Style Academy said, "This is a truly unique fashion event for Belfast, in an exciting and developing area of Belfast on the Lagan river, and it is one that I have no doubt will grow to become a stand out event on the Irish fashion calendar.

"Working with El Divino and Toni and Guy teams we wanted to make this event truly creative both in terms of the show that we produce and the quality of the work of the designers. Having offered the opportunity for local designers to come up with creative and innovative designs for the show, we have been inundated with submissions and the judging panel has selected 12 key collections as well as individual pieces from 20 University Of Ulster design students, to showcase.

"We are also thrilled to be working with House of Fraser, in bringing an international designer catwalk collection to the event, thus ensuring that our local designers share this prestigious platform with an acclaimed and globally respected brand."

Tickets for El Divino Fashion, are priced at £20 (for the first 200) increasing to £25 thereafter. An event ticket includes a reception from sponsors Pommery Pop and Asahi Beer as well as a luxury goodie bag. Tickets are available by calling El Divino on 02890 322000 or by e-mailing
