Belfast Fashion spy: 'Marilyn Monroe pulled off sexy style, but Miley Cyrus has no class'

Our reporter checks out the style in Belfast city centre and finds plenty of stylish ladies out and about.

Shauna Thom (32)

Accountant, Banbridge

Wore what? Dress, £15, and shoes, £15, both from Primark; bag, £100, Jasper Conran.

Why? My style is quite girly, so I wear a lot of dresses and heels. I don’t like to see people wearing clothes that don’t suit them. Just because it’s fashionable doesn’t mean you have to wear it.

Who? Marilyn Monroe had a sexy and girly style and really pulled it off. Miley Cyrus doesn’t have any class at all.

Kerry Bannon (32)

Retail manager, Craigavon

Wore what? Jacket, £45, dress, £38, shoes, £30, bag, £32, all from Topshop.

Why? I have to wear clothes that are in fashion to represent the current trends when I’m working in-store. I don’t really do a lot of floral patterns or camouflage.

Who? Olivia Palermo always looks fabulously dressed. I don’t like the way Rihanna dresses; her style is a bit too casual for me.

Laura Carolan (32)

Social worker, Newtownards

Wore what? Jumpsuit, £80, Warehouse; clutch, £6, Primark; shoes, £35, River Island.

Why? I dress casually and normally. I only wear patterns if I'm going out. I don't like floral patterns, though.

Who? I love how the Kardashians dress, as they like leopard prints and show off their curves. I'm not keen on Rita Ora's style — she wears too many patterns.

Jennifer Irwin (29)

Trainee accountant, Bangor

Wore what? Top, £15, Topshop; jacket, £20, Quiz; trousers, £25, Next; bag, £15, Primark; shoes, £60, Poetic Licence.

Why? My style is smart casual and I do tend to wear bright shades — I don't like boring, dark colours.

Who? Angelina Jolie always looks nicely put together, but I think that Lady Gaga takes things too far.

Rachel Goan (18)

Student, Omagh

Wore what? Jacket, £10, bag, £5, and sandals, £5 all from Primark; shirt, £15, Missguided; jeans, £38, Topshop.

Why? I like to be co-ordinated and often match colours. I don’t like leopard print at all.

Who? Frankie from The Saturdays always looks great — she has a nice laid-back style. I think Paloma Faith has a strange look that I would never go for.
