Bethenny Frankel feels ‘too thin’

Bethenny Frankel insists she’s “too thin” and needs to eat more in a bid to put on weight.

The American reality show personality is famed for being one of the original five housewives featured on the hit TV series The Real Housewives of New York City, and is the founder of the Skinnygirl diet and food brand.

Bethenny has carved a career out of creating healthy lifestyle products, but maintains that her own weight-loss has become a little too extreme.

"I'm too thin," she told Life & Style.

"Because I'm so busy, I'm not always hungry. I have to make myself eat more because of my busy schedule."

Bethenny blames her hectic work and family life for her weight loss as her schedule leaves little time for her to eat. The 40-year-old star, who has a 15-month-old new baby, has to ensure she’s constantly snacking or else she finds that her weight plummets.

"I have to eat more because I burn off a lot of calories,” she explained.

Bethenny has admitted that her new lifestyle has allowed her to enjoy foods. The brunette star used to eat treats excessively because she felt deprived, but now she savours them.

"I love dessert so I eat dessert," she said. "If I had eaten a brownie five years ago, I probably would have had to have 12 brownies. Now, if I want a brownie, I'll have a little bit of a brownie."

Bethenny says maintaining a healthy weight is about living a balanced lifestyle. The petite TV star warns women not to be extreme about their weight woes.

"Girls put a lot of pressure on themselves to be skinny. They don't understand that it's not about a quick fix - but a healthy lifestyle,” she added.
