Bridal beauty secrets from the experts

It’s finally here! The Wedding Journal Show returns to Belfast this weekend and The King’s Hall will undoubtedly be filled to the rafters this Friday, Saturday and Sunday with brides-to-be looking for everything they need for their big day.

Every bride wants to look her best for her wedding and it’s a time when we tend to go that extra mile and really up our beauty game. The Belfast Telegraph Style Stage, hosted by Pamela Ballantine, will feature makeovers, bridal beauty and fashion all weekend at the show, giving guests invaluable advice on becoming a beautiful bride. We spoke to some of the experts to get their top tips.

Think Skin Love Skin (

Annette Burns Young will present her ‘Bride’s Guide to Glowing Radiance’ on the Style Stage on Sunday. Think Skin Love Skin is an online organic beauty boutique based here in Northern Ireland. They have literally crossed the globe to source the very best products and carry skincare from Californian brands, Dr Alkaitis and Suki and UK brands Pai, Ila and Spiezia Organics alongside haircare ranges from US celebrity hairdresser John Masters and leading UK Colourist Louise Galvin.

Annette had this to say about bridal beauty: “For her wedding, a bride wants her skin to be at its very best. She wants to be naturally radiant and that’s why we are delighted to be involved with the Wedding Journal Show. Many of our ranges have been chosen because they have such high performing, problem solving properties. We decided to specialize in natural and organic skincare only, as after extensive testing and research, we found that these products were best for skin conditions such as rosacea and acne, but also enlarged pores, redness and dullness.” The key products Annette recommends for brides to be are;

Ila Face Oil for Glowing Radiance, £56 from

This award winning face oil is a ‘Bazaar Beauty Hot 100’ for 2012 and will give you a radiant complexion. 3D lashes are state of the art, semi-permanent lash extensions that give longer, thicker, natural looking lashes that last for weeks and weeks. Made to be identical to natural lashes, you can create your desired look whether you want the most natural of effects or complete glamour. They feel and look just like your own lashes, are comfortable to wear (unlike some traditional false eyelashes) and are excellent for honeymoons, as they are fuss free.

The Wedding Journal Show takes place at The King’s Hall from 24th – 26th of February. Everything you could possibly need to plan your dream day can be found under one roof, with over 300 exhibitors and a fabulous new ‘wedding wonderland’ walk-through experience.
