Check it out: Plaid and tartan are your new top trends

It's hip to be square at DV8, where every reader can get 20% off this Saturday.

By Maureen Coleman

From Vivienne Westwood-inspired tartan to houndstooth of various shades, checks are a big trend at leading fashion retailer DV8. They feature throughout the collection, appearing on jackets, shirts, skirts and trousers.

Big, bold square patterns in jewel tones of cobalt blue, purple and red are fashionably eye-catching, while the Sixties influenced monochrome checks are given a colourful twist in autumnal shades of yellow and green. Wrap up tight in faux fur gilets and hats, matched with long knits and scarves. Complete your look with a statement bag, some killer heels, or for more casual occasions, brogues or Doc Marten shoes.

Boys are given the check treatment, as well. Lumberjack style shirts are teamed with heavy knits, biker jackets, chinos and dark jeans, with either trainers or brogues.

And in Weekend magazine, free with the Belfast Telegraph this Saturday, pick up your 20% off at DV8 voucher.
