Demi Lovato: 'I live in the gym'
The Cool for the Summer hitmaker has become a dedicated mixed martial artist.
Singer Demi Lovato has been working out six days a week as part of her commitment to mixed martial arts.
The 24-year-old became romantically linked to professional fighter Guilherme Vasconcelos in December (16) and it seems his battle skills have rubbed off on her in a big way, because she is now finding herself in the gym more than ever before.
“I’m into mixed martial arts," she tells U.S. news show Extra. "I'm doing jujitsu and I'm kind of in love with it... I've been doing it for about a year and it has just been so much fun, I have a new found passion for it and I really enjoy it.
“I feel very proud of the body that I’m in... I’ve learned to accept my body the way that it is naturally and it’s really helped me to love the skin that I'm in.”
The Cool for the Summer hitmaker also feels she has gained greater control over her eating habits thanks to the discipline instilled in her through mixed martial arts: "It’s better for me to just have a cheat meal (instead of a cheat day)."
And it appears the singer isn't going to let her reported split from Vasconcelos, aka Bomba, affect her fierce work-outs.
She rang in 2017 with the fighter and the athlete went public with the romance days later by posting a sweet picture of the pair on Instagram. But now it appears things have cooled off and Demi is single again.
"It wasn't a dramatic split," a source tells People.com. "Bomba is a good guy, but the relationship just ran its course."
Meanwhile, Demi recently announced she is designing a capsule collection for actress Kate Hudson's exercise clothing line Fabletics and the gorgeous Latina reveals the new venture came about in an "ironic" way.
“Kate and I actually met in the gym, which is kind of ironic, and we just had a great connection and she fortunately thought about me for Fabletics," Demi recalls. "I like to feel cute and confident while I'm in the gym working out, so I wanted to create cute clothing that empowers women while they're working out."
