Diane von Furstenberg resting after ski accident
Diane von Furstenberg has been left looking like “Mike Tyson after his worst fight” following a skiing accident.
The 64-year-old designer has been enjoying some down time on the slopes in Aspen with her husband Barry Diller, in preparation for the madness which accompanies the upcoming Fashion Weeks. However, her relaxing break took a turn for the worse when another holidaymaker ploughed into her, causing some bones in her face to fracture.
“Barry and I were skiing happily,” she told WWD. “Some Brazilian man, who could not ski, lost control and went straight at me, hitting me badly on my face and ribs with his camera. I went to the emergency room and then flew to UCLA. I look like Mike Tyson on his worst fight. Broken nose and some light facial fractures.”
The designer is now back home in Los Angeles where she is recuperating. Her family have all gathered round her which she says is a source of comfort, although Diane wishes they were there for a happier occasion.
“I guess it could have been worse... but it does not look pretty,” she said.
The star also mentioned the accident on her Twitter page, again telling fans she looks like the legendary American boxer after a turn in the ring.
