Fashion Spy: I love Olivia Palermo, Victoria Beckham has lovely dresses but they're too formal

By Kerry McKittrick

Our reporter checks out the style in Belfast city centre and finds plenty of trendy people out and about.

Corrina Conlon (29)

Belfast City Council worker, Belfast

Wore what? Coat, £15, shirt, £6, trousers, £8, shoes, £6, bag, £8, all Primark.

Why? I'm quite quirky, but it's hard to be different when you work in an office. I don't like to be too boring, so I'm always looking for patterns or colours to brighten my outfits.

Who? I love Olivia Palermo because she wears things that shouldn't go together, but they do. Victoria Beckham has lovely dresses, but they're too formal.

Margaret Pentland (65)

Retired, Carrickfergus

Wore what? Top, £15, Dorothy Perkins; jacket, £70, River Island; trousers, £22, Next; boots, £65, Marks & Spencer; bag, £60, Clarks.

Why? My style is smart but casual and I think today shows that. I like little jackets that dress up outfits.

Who? Holly Willoughby is young, and she always looks smart but casual which is lovely. Her dresses are just the right length - I don't like anything too short.

Sandra Goncalves (28)

Care assistant, Dungannon

Wore what? Jacket, £50, Topshop; jeans, £40, River Island; bag, £40, Ted Baker; shoes were bought in Portugal.

Why? The weather has been quite bad today, so I didn't want to be too cold. Usually I dress quite casually but funky.

Who? I love Kim Kardashian. She always has such nice figure-hugging dresses and good make-up, but Lady Gaga is a bit crazy.

Nikki Anderson (27)

Marketing executive, Edinburgh

Wore what? Shoes, £6, Primark; dress, £15, New Look; scarf, £30, Miss Selfridge; coat, £40, South at Very; bag, gift.

Why? I've just had a job interview, so I'm a bit smarter than usual. I don't really follow trends, instead I like minimal items of clothing that I can mix and match.

Who? Lauren Conrad always looks well put- together and chic. The Geordie Shore girls have too much on show on nights out, something that I would never do.

Robyn McMurray (25)

PR assistant, Belfast

Wore what? Coat, £25, Dunnes; jumper, £15, shirt, £10, New Look; jeans, £8, bag, £10, Primark; trainers, £50, New Balance.

Why? I'm quite laid back and in trainers today because I'm shopping with my mum, but usually I would wear dresses. They're so handy for work and you can also dress them up or down.

Who? Kate Middleton is so classy, but her style is modern, too. She gets it just right. I don't really like anything too revealing.
