Get glam for Polo in the City

The best dressed lady and gent at this Saturday’s glam Polo in the City event in Belfast will each net prizes worth £3,500 ... so just what should you wear?

Polo In The City returns to Belfast this Saturday for the second year, promising a great day of sporting and social excitement, not to mention raising vital funds for Mencap.

Polo teams will battle each other in a series of fast-faced matches at Lower Botanic Playing Fields at Stranmillis Embankment, while spectators can enjoy VIP hospitality and entertainment.

And for the first time there will also be Best Dressed prizes courtesy of House of Fraser, Belfast, with the Best Dressed Female and Best Dressed Male set to receive incredible prize packages to the value of £3,500 each. Little wonder then the question on everybody’s lips is: “What shall I wear?”

Jemma Cousins, ladies personal stylist at House of Fraser Belfast, says: “Polo is a very glamorous sport, yet the dress code is relatively relaxed.

“The key is to create a sophisticated yet easygoing look which will take you through from day to night.

“Pretty pleats, pastel colours and bold brights are all in season and, of course, don’t forget the abundance of wonderful prints which are around. The right accessories give oomph to a simple outfit — think statement necklaces, oversized floppy hats, bold clutches and over sized shades.

“Most importantly wear wedges which are sexy, sassy, comfortable, and of course, perfect for divot stomping at half time!”

Tickets for Polo In The City are £65 and are available via mencap.org.uk/polointhecity. For further details and event updates go to facebook.com/polointhecity or follow the event on twitter @polointhecityni. To book a personal stylist appointment with Jemma, tel: 028 9088 3746
