Get the glamour of the fab forties

Make a splash at next month's Belfast tea dance with glam retro fashions from Marks & Spencer

Step back in time to the Forties as the romance of the wartime tea dance makes a comeback at the Ulster Hall in Belfast next month.

Belfast City Council and Marks & Spencer are joining forces to give visitors a real taste of 1940s glamour at a modern-day Retro Tea Dance due to take place on December 19 at 7.30pm.

The aim is to get everyone jiving and jitterbugging to the big band sound of Siobhan Pettit and Nightswing, and marvel at the contemporary dance demonstrations courtesy of local legends, The Bellehoppers.

Participants are encouraged to dress in Forties-inspired fashion for a chance of being crowned Best Dressed in the vintage fashion stakes and win a £250 M&S gift card.

Vintage style is very much in vogue this autumn so why not inject some 1940s glamour into your wardrobe with these vintage inspired designs from M&S.

Sophisticated, smart and tailored looks are all the rage including, tea dresses, pussy-bow blouses, pencil skirts, three-quarter length coats, with pearls and long gloves to add that extra touch of elegance.
