The spring 2012 fashion season has officially sprung with a chic showcase of new season collections from Victoria Square.

Inspired by shows from leading international couture fashion houses, the sold-out series of opulent ‘Le Soirée de la Mode’ catwalk shows at The Merchant Hotel saw Northern Ireland’s top models sashay down the catwalk wearing the season’s most sophisticated looks from Victoria Square.

The lavish shows saw attendees dine by candlelight on sumptuous champagne afternoon tea and elegant evening champagne and canapés amidst extravagant floral arrangements by Floral Earth.

Taking guests on a journey of the glamour of spring, with an on-trend pretty rainbow palette of pastel shades and elaborate styling, pieces from designer brands and high street retailers including House of Fraser, Cruise, Reiss, Ted Baker, Hobbs, L.K. Bennett, Coast, Lunn’s, River Island, Kurt Geiger and Dune provided inspiration for new season style.

Adding a splash of celebrity to the proceedings, two sensational Victoria Beckham ready-to-wear dresses, stocked exclusively by Cruise in Victoria Square made their Northern Ireland catwalk debut. Amongst the chic offering, exquisite diamond necklaces by Lunn’s, which were specially commissioned to commemorate the Titanic’s centenary, also made their way down the runway.

Speaking after the Le Soirée de la Mode show, Hugh Black, centre manager, Victoria Square said:

“The Le Soirée de la Mode shows were a true showcase of Victoria Square’s fashion-forward offering, which features the best of the high street, alongside exclusive designer labels. We were proud to partner with The Merchant Hotel and Floral Earth to create a true style spectacle in the heart of Belfast to kick start spring early.”

Rebecca McKinney, personal stylist at Victoria Square curated the unique ‘Le Soirée de la Mode,’ shows. Commenting on the inspiration behind the show, she said:

“The decadent designer launch events of the 2012 spring/summer season saw top fashion houses Chanel and Louis Vuitton wow guests with mesmerising fashion catwalk shows and these certainly inspired ‘Le Soirée de la Mode.’ We wanted to create a spectacular show that would make people fall in love with spring style, which for 2012 is the prettiest of seasons.”

One-on-one style consultations are available with Rebecca McKinney, personal stylist at Victoria Square – perfect for those looking to build a new capsule spring wardrobe.
