Josh Brolin impresses Dave Bautista with new muscles
Josh Brolin has been training hard to play Cable in Deadpool 2.
Josh Brolin has dubbed Dave Bautista’s shock at his new muscles the “best compliment ever”.
The 49-year-old actor has been hitting the gym hard in preparation for his role in Deadpool 2, where he plays Nathan Summers / Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds' anti-hero Deadpool.
Josh has been documenting his training on Instagram, and most recently uploaded a video of himself relentlessly lifting weights.
“Quietly, the "Team" is killing it,” he captioned the video. “It takes a small village: @justindlovato at @iambuilt, Jonathon Phillips @hbmaxmuscle, @goldsgym and some discipline. Just saw @davebautista at the gym and he said: "What the f**k happened to you?!" Haha. Best compliment ever.”
It’s not just exercise that has helped Josh’s muscles to bulge, he’s also overhauled his eating regime. Cutting out anything refined from his diet, the Oscar nominee has been sticking to a clean meal plan which has helped him reach his body goals.
“Totally clean: no sugar, no breads, no pastas, no drugs, none of it. Fish, rice, eggs, veggies, water, one @bulletproof or @cavemancoffeeco in the morning,” he listed. “I'm almost 50. It's a different time: our access along with some big picture discipline results in always surprising milestones. Get on the train. #wedontf**karound. #itaintthathard #startslowandlight @weprevail #ryanreynoldsismyb**ch.”
In another recent video uploaded to the photo sharing site, Josh called out trainer Justin Lovato for pushing him at the gym.
“Drop sets to the point where you can't even lift the weight of your own arms. @justindlovato is my friend...usually, but when he pushes me close to tears, I know, deep inside, that he actually wants to play Cable even more than I do,” he wrote.
