Met Gala fashion 2017: The good, the bad and the interesting
The Met Gala was once again a parade of interesting fashion on Monday, as the rich and famous took to the red carpet at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The theme for the 2017 event was 'Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between' - celebrating the work of Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo.
Stars of music, film, TV and fashion gathered to show off their unique style - often gaining awe and, on some occasions, raised eyebrows.
Here's a selection of the most notable looks the red carpet.
Singer Katy Perry (32) had one of the most talked about looks of the night, appearing on the red carpet in a custom made Maison Margiela Couture dress by John Galliano.
Complete with veil, the stand-out dress featured an intricate embroidered sequined designs on the front along with huge fake flowers and long train.
Definitely one of the more memorable dresses from the event.
Model and actress Cara Delevingne (24) turned heads in a sparkly silver Chanel suit. The 24-year-old added to the futuristic look by painting her newly shaven head.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid (22) opted for an asymmetrical Tommy Hilfiger dress for the event, making sure her leg was as much as part of the look as the gown.
Gigi was alone on the red carpet this year, having attended the ball last year with boyfriend Zayn Malik, who famously wore a robot arm.
Supermodel Kendall Jenner (21) tried a more risky choice for the red carpet - arriving in a gown made entirely of hand-painted crystals.
She wore only a thong in the sheer dress, which featured a slashed design across the chest and a split skirt.
Not to be outdone by her sister, Kylie Jenner (19) arrived in a stunning figure-hugging Versace gown.
And it seems the reality star was in the mood to break some rules as she posted a star-studded selfie from the event, despite the Met Gala's 'no social media' policy which was implemented in 2015.
Iconic supermodel Naomi Campbell (46) showed the younger generation how it's done, appearing on the red carpet in a black velvet gown with a thigh-high split.
Naomi was accompanied by Edward Enninful, the newly appointed editor in chief of British Vogue.
Lily Rose Depp
Model Lily Rose Depp (17) opted for an off-theme fashion choice - arriving in a hot pink Chanel dress.
The aspiring actress detailed the look with oversize silver camellias and a creeping vine.
The wife of music superstar Pharrell, Helen Lasichanh (36) also turned heads and inspired memes with her Comme des Garcon full body suit with a pillowy design.
With many comparing the look to that of red Teletubby Po - it seems fashion is truly a matter of opinion as many critics and fashion bloggers lauded her choice of attire.
Singer Solange Knowles (30) is known for her bold fashion choices and this year's Met Gala was no different, with a look seemingly inspired by a puffer jacket.
Beyonce's younger sister wore a black, oversized bubble jacket with a train and matching trousers by Thom Browne, completely the look with a white button down and matching black and white shoes.
Rapper Nicki Minaj (34) wore a revealing custom-made H&M design, along with an obi belt featuring the face of Comme des Garçons’s designer Rei Kawakubo and duchesse satin kimono top.
Saving the best for last, singer Rihanna (29) won huge praise for sticking to the Met Gala theme, appearing on the red carpet in a tiered flower petal Comme Des Garcons gown.
In a look that showed flowers blooming all over her body, it was decided Rihanna easily stole the show and the red carpet.
