Nesbitt among best dressed men

Dapper Northern Ireland actor James Nesbitt has made it on to a list of the world’s best dressed men — while the Prime Minister was labelled top of the fashion flops.

The Coleraine actor joined the likes of Arctic Monkey Alex Turner, Take That and Bond star Daniel Craig on GQ's best-dressed list.

The Cold Feet star made it to number 32 on the list of 50 best dressed men, ahead of Prince Charles, pint-sized Ronnie Corbett and bizarrely Grace Jones, the only woman to make the list.

On the worst dressed list, Gordon Brown moved up the rankings from third worst-dressed last year to being the worst-dressed man in the 2010 poll, for being “anything but a prime example of British style”.

He is joined by one of his “best friends”, French president Nicolas Sarkozy, in third place, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il (eighth). The magazine declared of heel-wearing Sarkozy: “Perhaps the French president should spend less time worrying about his stature and more time worrying about his style”.

The worst-dressed list also includes funnyman Russell Brand (second), London Mayor Boris Johnson (fourth) for being “Charlie Chaplin... with a touch of Laurel and Hardy, more Hardy than Laurel” and the whole of the Top Gear team (fifth).

It is completed by Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan (sixth), the Match Of The Day team (seventh), Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell (ninth) and strip club boss Peter Stringfellow (10th).

Chat show host Jonathan Ross, who was officially the worst-dressed man of 2009, escaped the dreaded list this year.

Mr Brown's political foe David Cameron secured a place as one of the top 10 best-dressed, in eighth place.

Robert Pattinson, the 23-year-old Twilight actor, tops the best-dressed list which sees last year's victor DJ Mark Ronson plummet from first place to number 30.

Prince Charles falls from fifth place to 36, Corbett is number 46, with fellow comic James Corden declaring: “I've never seen someone wear a polka-dot shirt, a striped tie and a pastel blazer and look immaculate”, while Cheryl Cole's football star husband Ashley is a new entry at 44.
