New season style back on the catwalk at Fairhill

Fairhill shopping centre will be treating customers to an afternoon of fabulous fashion and breathtaking beauty ideas when its Spring/Summer extravaganza takes place on Saturday 20 April.

The Big Fashion Event will take place from 1pm and the event’s beauty team gives the Belfast Telegraph a sneak peek into some of the key make-up looks that will be gracing the models on the catwalk.

Go Nude: This is the season to let your natural beauty shine through by opting for a bare faced look. With the help of well placed concelear, tinted moisturiser and powder you can achieve the desired finish. Matte, velvety textures replace dewy, glowing looks for SS13 and remember to gently sculpt your cheekbones with shading but leave lips and lashes nude.

Think Pink: From hot pink lips through to blushing rose cheeks to fuchsia eyeshadow and even coloured mascara, pink is the colour de jour for SS13. Bright and bold is the best way to wear this trend with neon colour pop on eyes or lips making a statement. To achieve this look, apply a slick of your favourite pink lip colour and then blot. If you are not brave enough for hot pink then a sugar shade is a good alternative.

Bright Eyes: If you thought molten metallic and bold eyes were just for party season then think again. The SS13 catwalks such as Stella McCartney were awash with silky silver shadows and bright, block colours. To achieve the look brush shimmering silver shadow outwards into a winged shape and finish with plenty of eyeliner to create a feline flick. Make sure you accentuate the lashes-the bigger the better as volume not length will give the desired effect. Keep hair simple and lips nude to balance out a strong look like this.

Bronze Goddess: To create a just back from holiday look then softly sculpt your face with bronzer and use rich warm, tones on the eyes and opt for a dewy, glossy finish. Warm tones on bronze skin looks great with smudgy eyeliner.

Step Back in Time: SS13 is the season for retro glamour with 60s inspired style being one of the key looks. The secret is to team bold brows and retro liner with a side-swept fully-loaded beehive. A well-powdered velvety finish is best for this look. La-la-lashes and glossy full pouts – there’s nothing shy about 60s-inspired looks so it’s best to be brave.
