Pitbull launches third fragrance

Pitbull has added new scent Pitbull Cuba to his burgeoning fragrance empire.

Pitbull has paid tribute to his Cuban roots with his new fragrance.

The Messin' Around rapper announced his latest project, Pitbull Cuba, via social media on Thursday (01Dec16), and he revealed his third perfume - for men and women - represents much more than just a scent.

"This is my personal favourite, and it's one step closer to freedom - CUBA LIBRE," he wrote. "I wanted to pay a sensorial tribute to my family heritage. Cuba is warm, sexy and vibrant. It's designed for confident individuals who flirt with the unknown."

The 35-year-old first dipped his toes into the fragrance market in 2013, launching debut scent Pitbull, in a version for men and women. His reasons for getting into perfume stem from growing up in a female-dominated home.

"I was raised by nothing but women, my mother was my father. I was always around these great-smelling products and I would see the way (his mother) would mix them up and wear different outfits. I was always intrigued by fragrance," he told WWD at the time.

He released his follow up fragrance, Pitbull Miami, in August last year (15), telling Vogue after the launch that he loves women who smell "soft, sexy, sensual, but with a twist of exotic". And of his own approach to scent, Pitbull like to layer his smells.

"Basically the way we put it together was that I have a lot of colognes and perfumes that I like and I just started to mix them up," he continued. "Once you catch the right formula, everyone starts to say, 'Oh, you smell great.'"
