Rashida Jones wants women to sleep in her jewellery

Rashida Jones cannot live without hoop earrings in her life.

Rashida Jones has designed jewellery women can sleep in.

The Parks and Recreation star may be better known for her funny screen roles than design talents, but her flawless red carpet fashion, usually accompanied with a red lip, shows Rashida knows a thing or two about style.

Teaming up with Los Angeles-based e-commerce platform Iconery, Rashida launched a fine jewellery collection in October (16), and is hoping her customers find the designs fit easily into their everyday lives.

"I am a jewellery sinkhole," she laughed to American Vogue. "I have lost so much jewellery over the course of my life that I want things you don't have to take off every night. I like the idea of being the kind of person who sleeps in their jewellery."

The collection includes chains, pendant necklaces and a square ring inspired by one her father, record producer Quincy Jones, wears.

"He has a ring with a crest on it that Frank Sinatra gave him, which is the same shape as this," she revealed. "I've always loved a man's pinky ring, so this is a sleeker, feminine version of that."

Prices range from $95 (£76) for stud earrings, to $350 (£280) for the large square hoop earrings. There are also a smaller set of hoops, retailing at $175 (£140), with the actress explaining the looks have a hip-hop influence.

"Hoops have been like the story of my life," she smiled. "I've been wearing hoop earrings since high school. There was a moment in my life when I felt like I couldn't wear hoops anymore because I had to be more serious, but I cannot not have hoops in my life."
