Riverdale's Lili Reinhart shares tips to tackle breakouts
Lili Reinhart avoids make-up during her days off to allow her skin to breathe.
Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart eases up on her skincare routine when her complexion breaks out.
The 20-year-old star has been open about her battle with acne, admitting she struggles to feel confident when a spot or pimple pops up on her face.
But now, after teaming up with skincare brand St. Ives, Lili is learning how to keep her skin issues at bay.
“I try a little bit of everything, to be honest,” she told Teen Vogue when asked how she deals with break outs. “When my skin is breaking out pretty bad, I try to leave it alone as much as I can. I don’t want to pack on product after product, I think that makes it worse and kind of overwhelms your skin. I try to just let the breakout happen and wait for the inflammation to die down. I don’t exfoliate when I'm super broken out because that irritates it even more. I'll do spot treatments for that.”
And working on hit series Riverdale has also taught her a lot about beauty, especially that she hates the “caked-on” foundation look.
But away from set Lili rocks a more laid-back look, giving her complexion time to relax by avoiding piling on too many cosmetics.
“My everyday look is casual and I try not to wear make-up if I don’t have to,” she said. “I’ll cover a zit with a little concealer, but I don’t wear foundation on a daily basis. I maybe fill in my eyebrows. I usually put on a baseball hat on so I don’t have to worry about that. Maybe a bit of mascara. I don’t do a full face because my skin needs to breathe. When I’m not filming, I try to let it breathe.”
