Summer in the air as designer Wang jets in for fashion show
Top designer Vera Wang will make her first trip to Northern Ireland and offer the chance of a lifetime to one lucky fashion student.
The former fashion editor of Vogue and designer to the stars will headline the annual 2010 Magners Light Spring Into Summer fashion event next month.
Known for her beautiful bridal wear, she is a favourite amongst the great and the good.
She has designed wedding dresses for Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Andrea Corr.
And during her visit to Belfast Wang will unveil, for the first time in Northern Ireland, bridal collections which have made her famous.
The competition was also revealed at the launch of the annual two day fiesta of fashion in Belfast yesterday.
One fashion design student at the University of Ulster will be offered the opportunity to compete for work experience at her fashion house in London.
Hopefuls will have to design an outfit for the chance to be among 12 shortlisted students.
The winner will work with Vera Wang's head couturier in London.
The glamourous event will take place at St George's Market in Belfast on March 23-34.
The opening night is themed Something Old, Something New, and will blend collections from big name High Street retailers with vintage chic.
The second night, with its Deadly Designer theme will be hosted by Pete Snodden and former Miss Great Britain, Gemma Garrett.
