Tegan and Sara front Frank and Oak's power suit campaign
The twins are making a political statement with the new capsule collection.
Pop duo Tegan and Sara have suited up to star in Frank and Oak's new "workwear you can rock in" campaign.
The twin sister indie rockers jumped at the chance to front the brand's new collection of power suits, which fit their love for androgynous and gender-bending looks.
Tegan and Sara also appreciated the fact they could look sharp in Frank and Oak's garments, instead of wearing their every day rock star gear.
"For us, the idea of being 'at work' often means 'on tour', which has a very different vibe than business or business casual (for the office)," the Canadian siblings tell Racked.com. "It was fun for us to slip into a different (vibe) and imagine ourselves in that business role.
"We also tend to gravitate towards more masculine silhouettes in our stage clothes on tour, so the suiting and structure of the clothes (really appealed to us)."
Tegan and Sara are hoping to promote feminism through their Frank and Oak's line.
"It does have a political feel to it when we aren’t wearing dresses or overly feminine clothes at award shows or in fashion shoots," the Closer hitmakers explain. "(We) think the idea of gender expression through clothing is still accepted, and blurring those lines is an effective way to acknowledge the antiquated binaries."
Some of the looks included in the Frank and Oak's fresh line include a Chalkstriped Stretch-Wool Shirtdress on sale for $139 (£107), a Chalkstriped Stretch-Wool Bomber for $129 (£100) and a Striped Round-Hem Shirtdress with a $69.50 (£54) price tag.
The five-item capsule collection is now available for sale online at the Frank and Oak's website.
