Valentine’s Day fashion: Dinner date or adventure date? 4 outfit inspirations
Whether you are going for dinner or an adventure this Valentine's Day, Belfast fashion blogger Carolyn Henderson has the perfect outfits.
This year’s Valentine’s Day will be a somewhat special one, as it marks a full decade of dating my beau and better half, Dee.
Even after 10 years of dating, I still get excited about dressing up, putting on the warpaint and heading out for dinner, drinks and giggles. He still makes me laugh after all these years, but the oneliner jokes have definitely got increasingly worse.
A perfect date to me would include going out to a fancy restaurant, enjoying a bottle of wine or a cocktail or two over a three course meal. I’m at that age now where any ideal day or night date involves food and drink!
Although I do think it’s important to switch it up and venture out into the open air every now and again.
This year, we will be doing both, dinner dating and adventure dating. Our adventure date will take us to Disneyland Paris and our dinner date, well it hasn’t been decided upon yet.
Bearing all this in mind, I’ve put together four outfits - two dinner date looks and two adventure date attires, so there are a few options, no matter what Valentine’s Day has in store.
Outfit 1: The Pink Tuxedo Dress
This one might just be my favourite, as it’s perfect for dining out.
The dress drapes over your body, so it will hide any little food babies and it also neatly fits into the category of smart/casual, so it’s perfect for a restaurant date followed by a few drinks at the bar.
I’ve teamed this amazing Primark find with silver heels, clutch bag, big ole hoop earrings and layered Argento necklaces.

Outfit 2: The Velvet Pant Suit
Ideal for ladies who want to cover up, but desire something a little bit more special than ‘jeans and a nice top’.
Another Primark find, this outfit looks more expensive than it is and yet it’s extremely comfy.
I teamed it with a navy lingerie top, as it was the perfect colour and I think it just suited the overall look.

Outfit 3: Where’s Wenda Inspired
I haven’t copied Wenda directly, but if you replace the black and yellow with red, it’s pretty darn close. Purely unintentional though.
This outfit is definitely one that I’ll be wearing to Disneyland, as it’s cute, colourful and comfy.
I’ve chosen to wear with bare legs, as I’d just applied Bellamianta tan and I wanted to get the pins out.
However, it’s highly likely that I will be wearing thick black tights whilst in Paris to combat the cold.

Outfit 4: The Practical Well Wrapped Up Look
This is for a blustery, wintery romantic day out, when you want to look good, but you also remember that comfort and warmth is key.
This coat is actually reversible, so you can choose how you want to wear it. A great Zara sale find, you can either wear the faux fur or the faux leather option on the outside.
Of course, the t-shirt is no accident, this will be unashamedly worn around Disney as I attempt to remember my French vocabulary. Even if all I can recall is ‘Je voudrais un sandwich au jambon et au fromage’ at least I know I will be fed.
Teamed with busted knee jeans, ankle boots and a bobble hat, this is a no fuss outfit, fit for any adventure.
