Linda, who works as a medical secretary in a hospital, said that the makeover had come at the perfect time as she revealed she was in the middle of a divorce.
In her audition tape, the mother-of-two said that Trinny's "upbeat and positive personality helped me get through the most difficult time in my life".
"I'm in a rut with everything; my hair; clothes; make-up, so the makeover would just be perfect for me."
She appeared on the show with older sister Pat, who criticised Linda for always wearing clothes that were too big for her.
Trinny and Linda went shopping at a Zara store in Chelsea, London to pick out fashionable and flattering outfits for work.
The former What Not To Wear co-host compared a jumper Linda picked out to "something the dog should sleep on".
"'I'm never going to have sex again'", that's what that jumper says," she mocked.
Trinny acknowledged how difficult it can be for someone to change their attitude to fashion after 20 years of throwing on jeans and a T-shirt, but encouraged Linda to step out of her comfort zone.
"Even though you're in a very small place, in Northern Ireland, should that stop you changing the way you dress and making that little bit of effort?"
Following a haircut at a Josh Wood salon and a session with a make-up artist at Trinny London, the image consultant's own line, the Co Londonderry woman was in disbelief when she saw her transformation.
"You've made me feel really special," she told Trinny. "I was kind of shocked when I saw myself because it's quite a transformation." The medical secretary vowed that from now on, she will look for clothes things that fit, give her shape, and wear colours that make her "come alive".
Since the Trinny London brand launched in 2017, it has garnered thousands of fans who call themselves the 'Trinny Tribe', of which Linda is a member.
