What Duchess of Cambridge wore on dazzling Northern Ireland royal visit

By Judith Cole

The Duchess of Cambridge wore many of her favourite designers during her two-day trip to Northern Ireland. For her arrival in Belfast on Wednesday, Kate wore her previously seen red Caroline Herrera coat, costing £1,200, which she had worn in Canada in 2016 and Paris in 2017. It is believed she was wearing Zara black jeggings and LK Bennett 'Marissa' boots, the latter costing £199.

When she took to the Windsor Park football pitch, Kate was sporting a £125 Ralph Lauren cricket jumper (now sold out), £80 New Balance trainers and a Barbour Longshore quilted jacket, costing £159.

Kate soon proved she is the master of casual and glamorous looks when she arrived at the Belfast Empire Music Hall in a beautiful £1,590 Missoni gown, the pleated skirt of which shimmered in the evening light. At the time of writing, the pale green gown was still available to buy in sizes six, eight and 10 on Missoni's website.

Kate paired her dress with Gianvito suede stilettos, costing £505, and a nude Mulberry clutch (similar styles cost around £500).

A duchess must have jewels, and Kate wore green amethyst and diamond earrings from Kiki McDonough, costing £1,750, and a matching pendant, £1,250.

For their visit to Ballymena yesterday, the Duchess wore a beautiful cornflower blue Mulberry coat with cape, costing £1,735. The coat is the brand's 'Ashleigh' model from its autumn/winter 2018 collection. Its classic trench details, flared skirt and belt, along with the beautifully draped cape, was the picture of elegance.

At the time of writing the coat was only available in a size six, now reduced to £867 in the sale. Underneath the coat, Kate wore a bespoke Jenny Packham deep blue shift dress. This was similar to the style she wore in Canada two years ago, however, yesterday's version had a plain scoop neckline without a collar and a black belted waist. Packham is famous for bridalwear and evening gowns, which can cost upwards of £2,500, but she has created her 'No 1' high street line for Debenhams where you can buy a dress for around £100. Kate teamed this outfit with Rupert Sanderson 'Malory' pumps, £475, and a Jimmy Choo 'Celeste' clutch, £650.

The Duchess was also wearing sapphire and diamond drop earrings which belonged to Princess Diana.
