Fashion spy: We hit the city's streets for a good snoop

By Kerry McKittrick

Kerry McKittrick checks out the style in CastleCourt shopping centre in Belfast and finds plenty of trendy people out and about.

Katrina Boryczka (18)

Student, Londonderry

Wore what? Gilet, £15, boots, £25, eBay; jumper, £5, Primark; trousers, £17, H&M; bag, £45, River Island.

Why? I like to follow fashion in the magazines then hunt for bargains on eBay. I would never wear hotpants or anything too revealing.

Who? Beyonce and Rihanna both have wonderful, edgy styles. I don't like how Paloma Faith dresses, as she can often look a little strange.

Suzie McDonnell (37)

Marketing manager, Downpatrick

Wore what? Coat, £190, Marks & Spencer; scarf, £60, shoes, £60, House Of Fraser; top, £119, Ted Baker; jeans, £85, Hudson; bag, £141, Michael Kors.

Why? I like to shop from the high end of the high street as the clothes last longer. I never wear short, skimpy dresses as they don't suit my figure. I have to go for knee-length skirts instead.

Who? I think Charlize Theron and Cameron Diaz both have lovely, elegant styles and dress for their body shapes. I really like Pink but her look is a bit too punk for me.

  • Monthly spend £200

Karen Hannigan (25)

PhD student, Belfast

Wore what? Jacket, £20, dress, £15, Primark; shoes, £35, Converse; bag, £20, New Look; hat, £10, Dorothy Perkins.

Why? I wear a lot of dresses or I tend to go for leggings and heels. I'm not keen on clunky platform shoes, as I think they make everyone's feet look fat.

Who? Miranda Kerr has a lovely style but Rihanna can look trashy.

  • Monthly spend £50-70

Anna Shiells (19)

Student, Maghera

Wore what? Jumper, £10, pumps, £6, Primark; shirt, £8, Miss Selfridge; jeans, £15, bag, £35, River Island.

Why? My style is smart casual with a little bit of colour. I'm not into big patterns, or any kind of animal print.

Who? Rita Ora has a different, but casual style which I'm a big fan of. I don't like Lady Gaga as her look is a bit crazy.

  • Monthly spend £200

Michelle Kane (24)

Office administrator, Castlewellan

Wore what? Headband, £5, bag, £10, Primark; jacket, £20, Exhibit; T-shirt, £6, New Look; jeans, £20, boots, £20, Dorothy Perkins.

Why? My style is very individual and I don't follow fashion. A complete no-no for me is a short playsuit - I don't find them flattering.

Who? Cheryl Cole has a great style but I'm not too keen on Jessie J.

  • Monthly spend £50
