Aspiring priests a source of hope
The Catholic Church in Ireland has announced that 17 students have begun their studies for the priesthood in Maynooth and elsewhere.
This may seem a small number in the face of challenges to the Church, which include a shortage of priests and an ageing membership.
Given the challenges and continuing bad publicity, it is commendable that these students have committed to this path at such a difficult time.
I wish them well.
