Back then: Hitchcock classic gets full 3D treatment for film festival
DIAL M For Murder, the only film Alfred Hitchcock shot in 3D, has been pulled out of storage, restored and goes on screen at the MovieHouse, Dublin Road, on Saturday, April 5 at 7pm.
"It means the 1952 masterpiece will be seen as it was meant to be seen," said Michael McAdam, mine host at MovieHouse, who has travelled around to see blockbusters but has never seen this one in all its glory.
Dial M is part of the Belfast Film Festival.
Ice cold blonde Grace Kelly falls victim to jealous husband Ray Milland, but soon the tables are turned in this tense thriller.
For this 3D release in Belfast, a 4K film scan was made of the original camera negative along with a full restoration.
And what about this venue for Mr Smith Goes To Washington – Mr Smith is going to the Great Hall at Parliament Buildings on Friday, March 28 as a feature of the festival.
All the tickets for the Frank Capra comedy classic are sold.
It will definitely make a change from the comedy that usually goes on around the Great Hall!
