Gifted young violinist well worth seeing
A young Irish violinist will be soloist in next week's lunchtime recital. Richard Thomas was a pupil of Belfast-born Dr Fionnuala Hunt at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, and, having heard him in Sligo earlier this year, I can definitely say that he does his teacher proud.

His technical playing is outstanding as is his musical energy and he is well worth seeing at next week's concert. Richard's programme will include violin sonatas by Debussy and Brahms as well as Eugene Ysaye's Ballade for solo violin.
The First Presbyterian Church generously offers the facilities of its historic venue for all these 'free admission' recitals. However, as there is no sponsorship or subsidy, they can only continue with the voluntary financial support of the audience. An opportunity to contribute will be provided in the entrance to the church at the end of each recital.
