Globe-trotting violinist Alan adds another string to his bow

Alan McClure fell in love with the violin when as a 14-year-old schoolboy he was introduced to Beethoven's Violin Concerto.

He has played it on four trips to the United States over the years.

Alan (right) also has a special way with another of his favourites - Vivaldi's Four Seasons, which he has offered up to acclaim with the Ulster Orchestra.

Now Alan, who has also toured in countries such as Belgium, France, Russia and China, and his violin are to be guests at High Street Presbyterian Church at Steeple Road, Antrim, with the town's choral society on Tuesday (April 25) at 7.45pm.

Antrim Choral are presenting Jubilate that evening, conducted by John Harmar-Smith. Another guest will be Dara Collins (treble), who is a Year 10 student at Limavady Grammar School.
