Peeling back the landscape to show horrors from Great War
Photojournalist Michael St Maur Sheil will give a lecture on the exhibition Fields of Battle, Lands of Peace in the Linen Hall Library at noon on Monday, September 11.
The exhibition itself, depicting the imagery of the Great War, goes on during September in the grounds of Belfast City Hall.
The talk by Sheil will have an emphasis on the American dimension in the First World War and will concentrate on a Doughboys theme.
There will be a question and answer session.
The exhibition was put together over eight years by Sheil, a historian and battlefield guide.
His aim is to show how "modern landscapes conceal the terror and suffering that was played out in the trenches".
