Soprano Margaret really is a class act

By Eddie McIlwaine

Soprano Margaret Keys, who has been singing around the world with top orchestras, will be back in her home province to appear at Belfast's Waterfront Hall.

The Londonderry singer with the dreamy voice will be sharing the bill with Classical Brit winner Russell Watson on Wednesday, December 6.

Once upon a time, Margaret, who has a twin sister, Rosemary, a doctor, was a teacher at St Eithne's Primary School in Derry, before she made a fairytale entry into showbusiness.

Since signing a recording contract and performing for royalty and the Pope, she has headlined the Classic Isle Music Festival in the Isle of Wight, appeared on Sunday Night at the London Palladium and has recorded a new album - due for release in early 2018 - with the City of Prague Philharmonic.

Margaret will also be performing at London's Theatre Royal, Haymarket in November and will then fly to Philadelphia to appear at the world-renowned Kimmel Centre.

After all that, she will embark on a UK and Irish tour with Watson, which takes in the Waterfront Hall.
