This week marks Afternoon Tea Week and across Northern Ireland there are a host of top spots to spend an indulgent few hours.

Created by England's seventh Duchess of Bedford, who couldn't quite keep her hunger at bay until dinner, this afternoon pastime has seen a surge in popularity in recent years.

Many hotels are now offering their own signature take on the event, so if you are looking for the best spots to enjoy a pot of tea with some delicious treats, here are our top picks for afternoon tea in Northern Ireland.

1. Corick House Hotel

Surrounded by gorgeous locations in Clogher, Co Tyrone, the Afternoon Tea at Corick House Hotel is one of many delights where you can tuck into scrumptious patisseries with a cup of tea or a cheeky glass of prosecco.

3. The Merchant

Located in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, The Merchant's Afternoon Tea has become a must when visiting the city.

Afternoon tea at the Galgorm is hosted in the venue's River Room Conservatory, where guests can take in the beautiful surrounding of the River Maine and lush parkland of the Resort.

As well as a menu of teas, a selection of sandwiches, miniature savouries, scones, and miniature desserts.

5. Slieve Donard Resort & Spa

Dainty sandwiches and sweet treats are offered with the beautiful views of the sea and Mourne mountains in Co Down.
