Fancy a Buckfast doughnut? Belfast shop serving them up for one day only

By Claire Williamson

Ever wondered what it would be like to have a Buckfast flavoured doughnut?

Well, Buckfast fans wonder no more, as your wish will come true on Wednesday.

Belfast's Doughzy Donuts at Smithfield Market is having a trial of the treats for one day only.

It said on Twitter: "If all goes according to plan we'll be trialling these in the shop tomorrow - as a one-off."

In March an off-licence in Northern Ireland was flooded with orders for its tonic wine-themed Easter eggs.

D-Bees, in Lurgan, Co Armagh, took more than 2,000 orders within 24 hours of advertising a special Buckfast Easter egg package, according to owner Derek Brennan.

The package included a 140g chocolate egg with a miniature 5cl Buckfast bottle as well as a Buckfast-branded pen, lighter and magnet.
