Food and wine a 'magic' pair at Belfast hotel tasting evening

London-based Ramekins & Wine are coming to Belfast to host a night of food and wine at The Merchant Hotel.

Ramekins & Wine is the brainchild of Northern Ireland man Jamie Patterson and Thea Gardner, who started hosting their unique food and wine pairing dinners and pop-ups nearly three years ago.

The seven-course dinner, which will take place on Wednesday, August 14, is designed to "showcase the magic of a great food and wine match".

"Supper club culture - that ethos of meeting new people, sharing experiences and excitement over new things was always something that really resonated with us - we loved it, and we still do - the creativity, innovation and sheer love of food that 'supper clubbers' have is totally infectious,” said Jamie.

He added: “That's why we wanted to create our own, one where we can extol the virtues of not only drinking wine with food, but drinking the right wine with food and seeing how magical it can be.”

All courses will be served in their eponymous ramekins and paired to a local JN Wine, chosen specifically for the way they go with the food.

The evening will be hosted by Jamie alongside Northern Ireland wine expert, Jayne Boyce.

There are 80 tickets on general sale or guests can purchase a table of eight, which comes with a bottle of Champagne.

Tickets cost £60pp and are available at
