Easy Peasy Father’s Day Pizza from the Little Pink Kitchen

With only a few basic ingredients, these authentic and rustic pizzas are healthier and cheaper than the frozen or takeaway versions and can be customised with everyone’s favourite toppings.


  • 250g plain flour
  • 1 sachet of quick yeast
  • 1 punnet cherry tomatoes
  • 150g mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Fresh basil




Make the dough:

  1. To a bowl add the flour, half a sachet of quick yeast, a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  2. Next add 300ml of warm water and combine, either by hand or with a mixer, until the dough comes together in a bowl
  3. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave for 30 minutes

Prepare the sauce:

  1. Half the tomatoes and place on a roasting tray
  2. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a sprinkling of salt
  3. Roast for 15-20 minutes at 180 degrees
  4. Pop a baking tray or cast iron dish into the oven in preparation for baking your pizza

Make the pizza:

  1. Remove the tomatoes and the hot tray/dish for your pizza from the oven, taking care not to burn your hands!
  2. Tease the dough into a round shape, making it as thin as possible
  3. Drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil onto your baking tray or oven dish and place the pizza base on to it
  4. Mash the roasted tomatoes using a fork and top your pizza base with the sauce
  5. If using, tear the mozzarella into chunks covering your tomato sauce and add fresh basil leaves
  6. Bake your pizza for 20 minutes at 180 degrees
