Until very recently, the only restaurant queue in Northern Ireland was the one snaking from the front door of the Ramore in Portrush all the way round the Main Street into Kerr Street. It started forming in the late afternoon at weekends before the restaurant had even opened its doors.

This prompted a curiosity deep enough for the adviser and me to join the queue a few years ago and uncover what the fuss was all about. It turned out to be a pleasant enough moment, where despite the huge volumes being turned over, the quality of the food was good and the price was right.
