Me and my health: Actress Jolene O'Hara on her lifestyle

The 29-year-old actress is playing Princess Aurora in this year's Waterfront Hall panto Sleeping Beauty. She is engaged to Ronan Marlow, (29), who is a solicitor.

Q: Do you take regular exercise - and if so, what?

A: Usually yes, but during panto I don't set time aside for exercise as I'm on the go 24/7 with rehearsals. When I'm not performing I try to do my Insanity DVD, which is high intensity training, up to three times a week - I prefer to work out on my own so I just have Shauna shouting at me from the TV.

Q: What's the worst illness you've had?

A: Well it's not a serious illness usually but when you are performing in panto it's a disaster - I have laryngitis right now, which I developed about two weeks ago and lost my voice completely for the entire week. I had a sore throat for one day and although I'm not in any pain now, to get this just before a show is not good news. I am coping now as I have my voice back - it's better than it was, so hopefully by opening night it will have improved again. I'm getting through it.

Q: How healthy is your diet?

A: Again, because I am working non-stop now with panto preparations I don't have time in the morning for my usual two Weetabix. Instead I grab a Kellogg's Nutri-Grain bar in raisin and hazelnut; it's delicious and is good at keeping me going until later.

Lunch is usually pitta bread with peanut butter, banana and honey, which is full of nutrients to keep me full of energy until dinner. When I'm at the Waterfront Hall it's nearly always Nandos afterwards for dinner. If I go home then it's whatever is in.

Q: Any bad habits?

A: Probably staying up too late - I have FOMO (fear of missing out) at night time, which keeps me up. Also crisps - Tayto cheese and onion and Doritos are my weakness, especially in the evening. Any crisps, in fact.

Q: Do you drink and/or smoke - if so, how much?

A: I don't smoke and don't get much of a chance to drink, but when I do, I like a hot Jack Daniels. I'm not an Irish whiskey fan as I find it too sweet, I love my bourbon. I also like red wine such as a Spanish Rioja.

Q: Do you take any health supplements?

A: Berocca, as it combines lots of vitamins and you get some water with it too.

Q: How do you take time out?

A: Watching Netflix, sci-fi in particular, like Stranger Things and Falling Skies. Legion was also great too.

Q: How well do you sleep?

A: Usually quite well, but because I work evenings and weekends too I will lie in until 9-10am. It may look as though I get a lie-in all the time but because of my work I don't get in until 1am or 2am. Despite that, I nearly always manage to get enough sleep. I don't go to bed straight away - so that's why watching a good series on TV helps me unwind.

Q: Do you worry about getting old?

A: I don't but everyone in the world seems to. On my next birthday I will turn 30 so it is something that's on my mind - I suppose it is the fear of it.

Q: What is you go-to habit or product that keeps you feeling healthy?

A: Drinking water every day and Paula's Choice skincare, which is particularly good for sensitive skin. When I first started performing in panto my skin was always spotty because of the heavy make-up and the way you sweat under the hot lights. Now though it's fine since I changed my skincare.
