Buttercups love rain one day, sun the next

The recent chaotic weather of heavy rain one day and sunshine the next has spawned a surge in the growth of buttercups.

And while they make create a very picturesque scene across the nation’s meadows, buttercups are in fact poisonous when eaten by livestock, with horses often eating it by mistake in overgrazed fields.

Weeks of rain and confused weather have also helped lavender to flourish turning fields deep purple in parts of the country.

The rest of the month’s weather remains changeable with sunny days interspersed with rain, as has been the pattern in recent weeks, according to the Daily Mail.
