Celebrity home front
The famous faces on the property ladder
David Charvet You can live in former Baywatch star David Charvet and his Dancing With The Stars fiance Brooke Burke’s Malibu mansion — if you can afford the $75k (£46.5k) a month rent.
That is the monthly cost for the 6,769 sq ft pad which has five bedrooms, an infinity swimming pool, spa, wine cellar, an open-plan family room and oodles of wardrobe space.
And while that much money would easily be a deposit on a new home in Northern Ireland, living the American dream doesn’t come cheap.
However, it does get you a whole lot of house at Chateau Charvet which is built in a French style and built for the man of the house in 1998.
There is also a grand 18th century fountain in the grounds along with flickering gas lamps, French fireplaces, a screening room and terraces. The home is in the private Serra Retreat
which is a favourite with celebrities as it is guarded by security, preventing entry to paparazzi and fans. The couple have four children — Neriah, (11), and Sierra, (9), from Burke’s previous marriage, and Rain, (4) and three-year-old Shaya. The property is also on the market for $12.5m, with the rental option for interested new residents. Brooke recently told a US magazine that work-life balance is difficult in her home, “but David and I make sure to escape once a week”.
Broadcasting legend Sue Lawley is selling her beloved Budleigh home on the east Devon coast for £1.6m
Sue and her husband Hugh Williams fell in love with the house the first they saw it in 1995.
The Grade II-listed building has many of its original features such as trellis, the entrance hall, working shutters on its French windows, ornate coving and Bath Stone fireplaces.
However, the couple have added an ambitious extension since moving in the form of a garden room.
And, of course it has the most amazing coastal location overlooking Budleigh beach from its elevated position.
