Celebrity home front: Adele

With a clutch of Grammys, singer Adele now belongs to an elite band of celebrated artists – so it is only fitting she has a suitably impressive pad.

While Adele lived in a series of London flats while she was being raised by her mum, her incredible vocal talents have taken her to a very different place – a 10-bedroom mansion in the Home Counties.

The world is now Adele’s oyster so a dingy bedsit will no longer be adequate accommodation.

Home is now a grade II-listed manor in West Sussex with swimming pools set in 25-acres of rolling grounds complete with manicured lawns.

However, the 19th century house, which is said to be worth £6m, is being rented by the girl from Tottenham for £15,000 a month.

Adele showed off the house to the doyen of US TV celebrity Anderson Cooper recently, who admired the tennis courts, a self-contained staff cottage, a state-of-the-art kitchen as well as its own ballroom and helicopter pad.

Luxurious features here include marble wash basins, a marble fireplace and elaborate floral murals to Adele’s bedroom.

Meanwhile a dressing room has a deep fill bath in front of an open fire.

Mary Kay Ash

The late cosmetics entrepreneur Mary Kay Ash’s vast pink mansion is for sale with an asking price of $3.3m (£2.1m).

With 11,874 sq ft of living space, which includes six-bedroom, eight-bathrooms, 40ft ceilings and marble floors, this ultra-kitsch abode reflects the multi-billion dollar success of Mary Kay’s make-up empire.

And it’s a temple to girlyness with a pink bath and pink quartz toilet. Even the furniture upholstery and the kitchen walls – inside and out – have a deep rose hue.

Mary Kay, who died in 2001 aged 83, hadn’t lived in the house since the 1990s, but her love of pink was famous – she drove a pink Cadillac.

Petra Ecclestone

Every 23-year-old woman needs a crash pad – and Petra Ecclestone has one on a grand scale – a 14-bedroom Hollywood mansion.

The recently renovated £52m (£33m) LA home she shares with husband James Stunt is in addition to her Chelsea home.

Not surprisingly Petra’s American home is lavish with a staircase inspired by the one in Gone With The Wind, as well as three hair salons, a massage room and a walk-in wardrobe over two levels...with its own staircase.
