Celebrity home front: Hulk Hogan

While many Northern Ireland homeowners have had to slash the asking price for their homes, it seems even well-heeled celebrities are having to reduce the price of their home.

Former pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan has had to slash a whopping $16m off the price of his Florida mansion.

Now you can buy the 58-year-old muscle man's home for $8.85m dollars, and this is the fourth price reduction since the plush manor went on the market in 2006 when it was valued at $25m. It seems he is keen for a quick sale now as the property has been on the market for so long.

The cavernous waterfront property, which sits on the Gulf of Mexico, has 17,000 sq ft of space which includes five bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Hulk Hogan's house is familiar to many people as his reality show was filmed there.

The two-storey house, built in 1996, also has a gym, spa, five-car garage, pool and two-tier waterfall.

With its Tudor-style architecture and vaulted beam ceilings, dark hardwood or tiled floors to the expansive living areas, and lush gardens outside, this is every inch a pad suitable for a star.

Other trappings here include large TVs, log-burning fireplace and even a wet bar.

Ricky Gervais

New York's exclusive Upper East Side has a new resident in the form of Ricky Gervais who has just bought a posh apartment which was previously home to Liza Minnelli and Joan Crawford.

The $2.5m flat in the Barbizon was part of a residential hotel built just for women in the 1920s. Gervais and his producer partner, Jane Fallon, will live in the luxury home on the 12th floor which has 1,794 sq ft of living space which includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and en suite as well as stunning city views.

Inside, the apartment has massive windows which lets loads of light into the spacious living rooms. Other impressive trappings here are two balconies, dining room, laundry room, kitchen and private entrance to the Equinox gym.

Rupert Murdoch

n Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has sold his Long Island mansion after four years on the market for a loss of $5m. The 11-bedroom colonial-style property, which was his summer getaway, was originally worth $14.8m when it went onto the market in 2007. Despite his losses, Mr Murdoch had rented out the 1900s house called Rosehearty to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for a reported $100,000 a month in the summer months of 2009.

The beautiful bolthole sits on a 4.6 acre lot in Oyster Bay and is fully fenced and electronically gated.
