Teen star Justin Bieber has just bought his first home, but there is nothing humble about this starter home.
Multimillionaire Beiber has just got the keys to a $6.5m (£4.2m) mansion in the upmarket Californian suburb of Calabasas.
The Los Angeles Times revealed that Beiber is the new owner of the 10,000 sq ft home set on a 1.3-acre site, in the same neighbourhood as the Kardashians.
As well as a library, a movie theatre, a wet bar, wine cellar, large pool, guest house and ample garage, the heart-throb intends to install all the latest gadgets, featuring the latest consoles and old arcade games.
Simon Cowell has thrown open the doors to his $9.8m (£6.4m) LA mansion to reveal 70s-inspired interiors.
Designed by famous architect Hal Levit, who has also created homes for Dean Martin, Burt Lancaster and Debbie Reynolds, the US pad is located in a heavily guarded private estate.
Of course the 7,265 sq ft property has all the usual starry trappings including a high tech digital screening room and cinema, swimming pool and built-in outdoor fireplaces.
With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, Cowell’s home from home has some unusual additions such as faux Greek-style urns with brown and orange decor to the living area.
The 52-year-old star-maker bought the property last October, but was only revealed as the new owner in recent weeks.
There are the obligatory city and ocean views here, and famous neighbours such as Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, Ellen DeGeneres and Ringo Starr.
The house previously belonged to Randy Phillips, the promoter of Michael Jackson’s ill-fated This Is It tour.
This US home is the most recent addition to Cowell’s impressive property portfolio which includes houses in Barbados, Malaga and London with another currently under construction also in Barbados. Despite the obvious luxury of his newest home, a source said he will probably do a full redesign to fit in with his tastes.
Cowell is said to have beefed up security at all his homes, following an incident in London when a woman broke into the property when he was there.
Oprah Winfrey’s Chicago apartment is for sale for half the price she paid for it six years ago.
The TV star has put an asking price of $2.8m (£1.9m) on the luxurious flat in the city’s upmarket Streetville neighbourhood.
She tried to sell the property previously in 2008, but there were no takers. The 4,607 sq ft architect-designed home has eight rooms with 10ft ceilings, a library, a wine room and a whopping 1,241 sq ft master bedroom with large en suite bathroom.
