Celebrity home front: Ron Atkinson

This is a tree house like no other — the late Heath Ledger’s lofty abode is on the market for a cool £1.9m.

The magical home on a secluded hillside in Hollywood has an idyllic half-acre wooded site with a large deck area with outdoor screening room, grill and fire pit.

The palatial pad has homely but contemporary rooms, all with a Zen-like atmosphere.

The property is teeming with gorgeous features such as a large hole-in-the-wall fireplace, high ceilings and trendy tiling.

Built in 1951, the stunning hideaway has two-bedrooms, two-bathrooms and a modern kitchen with a brick fireplace, beamed ceilings and decks.

And, not surprisingly, there are large windows which allow views of the decadent outdoor area. This also means loads of natural daylight floods into the living space.

Even the outdoors space is a real comfort zone, and is furnished with cushioned benches, tables and lights to make the most of the scenic surroundings. The house is perfectly lit after sunset and the glass panels add a special touch.

Ledger was not the first celebrity owner here, however, as the property was previously owned by Ellen DeGeneres and has been on and off the market in recent years.

The current owner of this beautiful home bought it from the estate of the Australian actor in 2008.

Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription medicine in January 2008, aged 28.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Brangelina are selling up!

The Jolie-Pitts have put their $13.75m Malibu mansion on the market — it’s just one of their many homes, including abodes in Los Angeles, New Orleans, France and Italy.

The sprawling four bedroom house, which has a coastal location overlooking the Pacific Ocean, has two separate houses, a pool, tennis court and expansive lush gardens.

Expect 4,100 sq ft of home here with private beach access and a private laneway which is probably de rigueur for these A-listers.

Ron Atkinson

Big Ron Atkinson, former football manager and TV sports pundit has decided it’s time to downsize. Ron (72) and his wife, Maggie (62) will sell their four bedroom house in the Birmingham suburb of Barnt Green where they have lived since the 90s. Maggie said:

“It is too big for us. We used to have three dogs but now we have no ties and we like to go to our place in Tenerife when the mood takes us.”
