Global style: New levels of luxury with this exquisite new development in Derry

Taggart Homes has reached new levels of luxury with this exquisite new development in Londonderry. Stephanie Bell reports...

It has been described as Northern Ireland's most luxurious development - and little wonder.

Coralmount on the Limavady Road in the Waterside has been causing quite a stir in Londonderry because of its sheer opulence.

The gated development by designer/builderTaggart Homes is the last word in luxury offering pergolas, orangeries, New England style car ports, coppered canopies and outdoor fireplaces.

Inside there are Italian marble finishes, gold chandeliers and Irish wood panelling.

The luxurious development has been attracting interest far and wide.

Three of the six have already sold and Taggart Homes has been taking inquiries from all over Ireland, the UK, the USA and even the Middle East.

Even Derry music legend Phil Coulter is among those who've been to see the high end homes at Coralmount for himself.

He said: "I'd heard so much about Coralmount and I wanted to go along and see what all the fuss was about. When got there I understood! These are very special homes indeed.

"The living spaces, inside and out, are spectacular, as good as anything I've seen in all my travels and I was delighted to discover that one of them even has a music room.

"Our city has come a long way in recent years and I think Coralmount says a lot about where we are going. Building high end, luxury homes like these is a great vote of confidence in the future and in that 'bright, brand new day'."

The dwellings are all around the same size, at more than 3,000 sq ft.

However, each of the six has been individually designed, inside and out, and all include spaces that can be used to best suit the owner's lifestyle.

The properties have been a labour of love for home designer Michael Taggart.

Michael is strategic adviser to Taggart Homes and has helped to oversee the construction and sale of 300 designer homes in the North West since 2015.

"These homes are very special and are certainly creating a buzz, that's for sure," says Michael Taggart.

"Coralmount is a real statement about where the city is at now and more importantly where it is headed.

"Designing beautiful homes has always been my passion. Coralmount represents our greatest and most luxurious project to date.

"This new gated community of six stunning residences represents years of experience in the building industry and draws from ideas gathered around the globe.

"Our craftsmen bought into my concept from the beginning, to turn design ideas into stunning homes you just have to love. And I love what we've done here at Coralmount."

Local materials as well as materials from Spain, Asia, Italy, England and beyond have been sculpted and honed to create these spectacular homes.

Pergolas, garden rooms, hand-cut cobbles and copper canopies create a wonderful feeling of well-being outside while the feeling inside is elevated to a whole new level with the finest materials including gold chandeliers, Italian marble and Irish wood panelling. The finish is exceptional.

Two of those remaining are four bed and one is a three storey five bed house.

Each house boasts the latest smart technology and all fittings including the spectacular bespoke chandeliers and lighting fixtures, handmade curtains and silk lined carpets are included.

As you approach Coralmount you will be met by the grandeur and pristine finish on the exterior of the development as a whole, and then of each individual home.

With minimal lawn areas, the focus is very much on low maintenance.

Taggart Homes Director Nicolas Taggart says the whole team at the company has enjoyed the project: "Every single person enjoyed working on this because you could see it grow from a derelict site into this beautiful gated home overlooking the Foyle and the Foyle Bridge.

"There's simply nothing like it in this country. It's a real stand-out development.

"We now have 14 show homes open across the city. It is very exciting times."
