Victoria House in Rostrevor, a six-bedroom mansion complete with a swimming pool, has created a stir after going on the market with a price tag of £1.15m - but you don't have to be a millionaire to own a home with a pool.
There are a surprising amount of Northern Ireland homes with their own pools currently on the market, what with our rather unpredictable and rainy summers.
Ranging from £275k to £1.5million and scattered from Enniskillen to Newtownards, there are homes on the market to suit budgets big and small.
While some see owning their own private swimming pool as the epitome of luxury living, David Best, associate partner at Simon Brien Residential's Holywood office, says that there is no quantified added value to adding one to your home.
"It comes down to the specific property - the location, its setting, and that's all taken into consideration as one entity."
He added: "Pools are very specific. We have had a number of clients in recent months who have been specifically requesting properties with swimming pools.
"There is always the question, 'what are the running costs?' and that is a difficult one to answer and will be specific to each property."
Best says there's no specific figure you can expect for running a pool. It can vary, costing anywhere between £500-£1,500 depending on size, how often it's used, whether the pool is indoor or outdoor and if it is heated.
