If you’re a smoker and you’re trying to sell your house, it may be time to stub it out.
A new survey has revealed that 24% of buyers will expect a discount on the property if there is evidence of a smoker having previously lived there.
The findings from globprix.com also showed that a further 40% of people said they would think twice before renting a house if the previous tenant had been a smoker.
Also, landlords will penalise smokers with higher rents and cleaning charges.
Since the smoking ban was introduced five years ago, 81% of people say they fully support it.
