What brought you into the business?

I completed a Property Investment and Development degree at the University of Ulster.

Who has inspired you in the property world?

No individual, however, my colleagues at BTWCairns are very inspirational and supportive.

What do you have sitting on your desk?

Site plans, business cards and my diary.

Downtime is?

When I’m not making wedding plans, I enjoy eating out or relaxing with friends and family.

Do you do lunch?

I usually grab a quick sandwich at my desk, but my mum likes to treat me by taking us out somewhere nice for lunch every few weeks.

What qualifications do you think are essential for estate agency?

My degree has certainly been useful for the sector I’m in when it comes to new developments and getting to grips with property law, however, having good people skills is |essential.

What did you want to be as a child?

A professional horse rider.

If you could give it all up tomorrow, where in the world would you move to, and what would you do?

I’d have a big house in the country with a few farm animals and a |donkey.

Any unfulfilled ambitions?

I want to go to Italy so I expect to be checking that off my list sometime soon.

What is the most common misconception people have about estate agents?

Generally I’ve had a very positive response from any friends when I tell them I’m an estate agent. I’ve never had anything harsh said to me about my job.

Your top tip for house-hunters is:

Get your finance in place and know what you can afford.
