In my day: We quiz Catherine Donnelly on the time of her life

Q. What was your decade?

A. The 00s. I was born in 1991 so the noughties for me are filled with memories of studying for my A-Levels and working part-time for the owners of Dorman's before it became Secrets.

Q. What was life like?

A. Life was fun. I have a twin brother Declan so I spent lots of time with him, fighting one day and best friends the next. We have similar friends so we often planned nights out or days away together.

Q. What were you listening too?

A. Snow Patrol, Biffy Clyro, The Killers and Damien Rice.

Q. And the style?

A. I experimented with vintage fashion, make-up and what I can now say was dodgy fake tan.

Q. What has changed?

A. I have completed my education, graduating with a first class honours degree in business management. I've passed my driving test, I'm going travelling to Thailand for three weeks and I've got a full-time job.

Q. What was better back then?

A. The novelty of having photos developed. Now we live for the moment with camera phones and the era of selfies.

  • Secrets Nightclub, Magherafelt. Open Thursday through to Sunday. Catherine Donnelly is its marketing manager
