Just born: Bouncing baby Remy Andrews is a picture of good health

Lori Andrews and Jonathan Peeples from Bangor have welcomed a son into the world.

Hairdresser Lori (28) and Jonathan (31), a warehouse manager, are now the proud parents of Remy Jonathan Michael Andrews.

Lori is a first-time parent and Remy is Jonathan's second son. The healthy baby boy, who looks like his daddy, weighed 6lbs 8oz when he was born at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald on January 12 at 4.55am.

"We found out quite early on we were having a boy," Lori said.

"Seeing him for the first time was just amazing. I couldn't believe it."

Lori spoke in glowing terms about the staff at the Ulster Hospital.

"They were very helpful," she said.

"All really good. All the midwives and everyone couldn't do enough."

Little Remy is thriving and Lori is enjoying motherhood.

"He is doing really well," Lori said.

"We've had no problems at all. He's sleeping quite well and feeding. He is healthy and putting on weight.

"Being a parent is hard work, brutal, but worth it. It is really lovely. Very exciting. I just love it."

Lori would like to thank everyone who has wished her young family well.

"He has got so many presents," she added.

"Our friends, family and my customers have been so kind and generous."
