Just Born: Erin Leyden's big brother is tickled pink

Karen and Mark Leyden from Belfast over the moon with the new addition to their family.

Erin Lily Mary Leyden weighed 7lbs 9.5oz when she was born at the Lagan Valley Hospital on September 3 at 10am.

Pharmacist Karen (33) and Mark (33), a bank official, are thrilled to be the parents of a healthy boy and girl.

"We were so excited to see her," Karen said.

"Our wee boy is three. Getting a girl was a shock, getting used to all the pink.

"She's lovely, with dark hair and blue eyes.

"She's like a wee China doll. You forget how small they are."

The couple's son Owen is enjoying being Erin's big brother.

"He loves her," Karen said.

"He's very affectionate with her, giving her lots of cuddles and kisses.

"He is the best big brother."

Karen praised the staff at Lagan Valley's midwife-led unit.

"They were brilliant," she said.

"They couldn't do enough for you.

"They were always there for help and support if you needed them."

The Leydens' friends and family are celebrating the new arrival.

"They have been brilliant," Karen said.

"She's the second grandchild on both sides of the family so she is being spoiled rotten."
